2015

Almanac’s Artistic Directors continue their creative collaborations, working with Box of Tricks Theatre to develop Narvik, a play with songs set in Norway and the Arctic in WWII, written by Lizzie Nunnery and dramaturged by Lindsay Rodden. The company also includes Almanac associate artists Martin Heslop and Vidar Norheim as performers, composers and sound designers.

2014

The Alligator Club

Almanac Artistic Directors Lindsay Rodden and Lizzie Nunnery join forces with eight other North West playwrights to collaborate on six innovative new writing productions in venues across the region, including Manchester Royal Exchange, Bolton Octagon, Liverpool Playhouse and Theatre By the Lake in Keswick.

Almanac team up with Everyword Festival to present a night of music and spoken word at the Nordic Church, Liverpool. Lizzie Nunnery & Vidar Norheim perform their new album Black Hound Howling as part of a six piece band, interspersed with specially tailored live text.

Liars: An Evening of Short Plays     

Cornerstone Theatre Liverpool      November 2010

Almanac and The Miniaturists present… Liars: An Evening of Short Plays about faking,  self-deceiving, and whether seeing is believing. The programme includes a revival of the fantastic Danny Bollocks by the award winning Nick Leather, (Billy Wonderful, Liverpool Everyman, All the Ordinary Angels, Manchester Royal Exchange); world premieres of new work from Lizzie Nunnery (Intemperance and Unprotected, Liverpool Everyman), Lindsay Rodden (The Almond Tree, State of Wonder / Liverpool Everyman), and Ella Greenhill (Into the Water, Liverpool Everyman).  The performance will include songs and soundtrack inspired by the texts.

The Revolution Will Not Be Published

Bluecoat Arts Centre               August 2009

A cross-arts performance created through collaboration with poet Nathan Jones of Mercy, featuring music from Hannah Peel and Jesus Penaranda, Vidar Norheim & Lizzie Nunnery,  Lindsay Rodden

Poet in residence and interdisciplinary arts programmer Nathan Jones, co-curates and hosts a highly ambitious show exploring the modern potential of the lyric in performance. Featuring folk musicians selected by Almanac, The Revolution Will Not Be Published combines innovative approaches and contemporary content with traditional form and historical context for an evening of exceptional entertainment.
